The Clubs
East Grinstead has two clubs running at present. A recent addition has been the dojo at Fonthill Lodge School. Both clubs, Felbridge Village Hall and Font Hill Lodge School are small and have a friendly atmosphere, they are run by Sensei’s Neil Starks, Andy Cook, Paul Crooks and Ingvar Svenson. These instructors bring a wealth of experience for you to tap. Fonthill Lodge School is the only dojo to hold children’s training sessions.
We use the aikido, as taught by Ueshiba Sensei, and various karate styles which have been blended into a unique mix to form Ryusui-ryu. The name means ‘like flowing water’ and this is exactly the emphasis placed on the application of the styles techniques, strikes and covers.
We offer parent and children training sessions. Although class tuition is separate, the day and time-slot are the same. We recognise that fitness and fun for the family is important in our busy lives. This session will enable busy parents to utilise their valuable time effectively.
Beginners are always welcome, the practice will be challenging but fun also. Age or ability is no barrier. Contact us for details. |
